The Powers that Be - Walter Wink

Its subtitle is ‘a theology for a new millenium’ and that is exactly what it is. Wink talks about the importance of seeing Christ’s crucifixion as God triumphing over the Powers, and doing so through completely non-violent means. This is actually how the early Church first understood the cross and is what characterised their silent global revolution, and yet it seems to be all but lost in the modern Church. This is a simple, radical and refreshed vision of the Church as it is intended to be. Challenging.
